Injuries from a car accident are not always immediately evident. Even a minor fender bender can result in ongoing discomfort, making daily life more difficult. Patients in Jupiter, FL, Palm Beach Gardens, and Port St. Lucie are treated by Dr. Michael Papa at Papa Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. Chiropractic care seeks to determine the cause of the pain and assist the body in its healing process in a non-invasive manner.
The first type of injury commonly experienced by individuals after an auto accident is neck pain, which can be caused by whiplash. This injury can result in the straining of the muscles, ligaments, and joints in the neck. According to the chiropractic clinic, chiropractic care can assist in alleviating whiplash injuries, as well as other forms of soft tissue injuries, through the development of a treatment plan.
A headache following a crash may be linked to neck tension, spinal misalignment, or muscle strain. Chiropractic care focuses on reducing pressure on nerves and improving alignment, which may help decrease headache frequency and severity. Early evaluation is important because symptoms may not appear immediately after an accident.
Back pain is another common concern after a collision. The sudden impact can lead to sprains, disc irritation, or joint dysfunction. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore spinal alignment and support the body’s natural healing processes. Treatment may also include rehabilitation exercises to improve strength and flexibility.
Seatbelt tension, bracing during impact, or sudden jerking motions can contribute to shoulder pain and upper-body injuries. Chiropractors often evaluate joint mobility and soft tissue function to create a plan that reduces discomfort and improves range of motion. These conditions are frequently included in comprehensive chiropractic care programs.
During an accident, the knees may strike the dashboard or experience twisting forces. This can lead to knee pain or other limb injuries. Chiropractic care may incorporate joint assessment, mobility work, and rehabilitation exercises to support recovery and restore function.
Auto accidents can cause injuries such as sprains and strains in the limbs. The focus of chiropractic care is to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote healing. The customized care plans assist in addressing each injury and promoting recovery. The clinic's focus is to recognize injuries, especially those that are not immediately visible, to avoid further complications and speed up recovery.
