Your First Consultation After an Auto Accident Injury: What To Expect

If you have been injured in a car accident, our chiropractor can help alleviate your pain. There are a numerous amount injuries a person can sustained during an auto accident, such as whiplash, back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, and joint pain. Our chiropractors at Papa Chiropractic and Physical Therapy in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Port St. Lucie can find the root cause of your pain and can design a pain relief plan to meet with your needs.

Medical History

During your consultation, our chiropractors will want to know your detailed medical history. This includes any health conditions that you have, past surgical procedures, and any medication that you are taking.

Accident Information

Our chiropractors will need a bit of information about your accident. They would need to know if you were wearing a seat belt, if you were hit from behind, if you hit someone, if you were t-boned or if you were ejected from the car. This information will be useful in creating your treatment plan and finding the cause of your pain. Our chiropractors will need to know if you went to the hospital as well. Hospitals can sometimes miss information.

Physical Examination

During your consultation, our chiropractors will perform a physical exam. They will need to know what movements are triggering your pain. They will also want to test your strength in the injured area as well as your range of motion.

Diagnostic Testing

Our chiropractors may want to order tests, such as x-rays. This will allow our chiropractors to get a good look at what is going on while ruling out other issues.

Discussing Your Treatment Plan

After your physical exam, our chiropractors will discuss your treatment plan. Not everyone will experience the same pain as you, which is why your treatment plan will different than everybody else. They will make sure that you have a realistic idea regarding the recovery process.

Your First Adjustment

During your first visit, our chiropractors will perform your first adjustment. When you leave the office, there is a good chance that you should start feeling some relief.
