When you are involved in a car accident, a lot of physical damage occurs. However, your health should concern you most because auto accidents can cause numerous medical issues. Not sure how to handle your injuries following a car accident? At Papa Chiropractic and Physical Therapy, we have been treating auto accident injuries for residents of Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Port St. Lucie for many years.

What are some common auto injuries?

A lot happens during an auto accident Loose objects become projectiles that can harm your body. The seat belt that is meant to save your life can cause injuries when it tightens. Whiplash, which is one of the most common injuries following an auto accident, occurs when your neck moves back and forth suddenly, leading to damage to the ligaments, tendons, and joints. Other common auto accident injuries include broken bones, soft tissue injuries, concussions, sprains, strains, herniated discs, and neck pain.

Should I see a medical practitioner after an accident?

If you have been involved in a severe accident, you will need to undergo urgent treatment. Even if it’s a minor fender bender, you still need to see a doctor. Some auto injuries aren’t apparent after an accident but can be diagnosed during a medical appointment.

How can a chiropractor help with auto injuries?

Chiropractors pinpoint the exact cause of your pain and use natural remedies to treat the pain. Chiropractic techniques used to treat auto injuries include spinal manipulation, massage therapy, and corrective exercises. Opting for chiropractic ends in faster healing and long-lasting results. Rather than masking your pain with prescription medication or performing invasive surgery, we will assess your musculoskeletal system to determine the type, location, and severity of your injuries before creating a chiropractic care plan to address them.
